Hello everyone, this is Chisato Tateno, 2025 Miss SAKE Japan.
On Wednesday, November 5th, I had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to Mr. Toshio Kase, President and CEO of NARIKOH Co., Ltd., at the company’s headquarters.
About NARIKOH Co., Ltd.
NARIKOH Co., Ltd., based in Narita City, Chiba, operates with the philosophy of “Connecting People, Hearts, and the Community.” The company engages in a wide range of community-rooted businesses, including airport maintenance services that support the safe operations of Narita International Airport, civil engineering, construction, architectural design, and environmentally responsible waste management—contributing to the foundation of the region.
In recent years, the company has also been actively involved in SDGs initiatives, such as cultivating the “NARIKOH Early-Growing Paulownia®,” a tree species that grows faster than usual and can absorb more CO₂ in a shorter period. Through these efforts, NARIKOH continues to advance as a company that nurtures the future in harmony with nature.
Sharing the Vision of Connecting People and Community
During this visit, I provided an overview of Miss SAKE’s activities and spoke about our involvement in Japanese sake culture, food and agriculture, SDGs, and regional revitalization. Through our meaningful conversation, I strongly resonated with NARIKOH’s commitment to realizing its philosophy of “Connecting People, Hearts, and the Community” through businesses deeply rooted in the region, as well as the company’s sincere dedication to environmental stewardship and building a sustainable society.
As Miss SAKE, we have also been committed to communicating the cultural and regional value of Japan through sake and traditional culture, and I felt we shared many common values and aspirations regarding contributing to local communities and working toward a sustainable future.
In addition, since NARIKOH has played a key role in maintaining the safety of Narita International Airport since its opening, our conversation extended to topics such as international cultural exchange and overseas activities through Japan’s “gateway to the world,” making this visit especially meaningful.

Lastly, I was delighted to receive a “Paulownia Yarn Towel” made from Nariko Early-Grown Paulownia® as a gift. This towel is crafted from natural materials and features a soft, gentle texture, making it suitable for everyone—from babies to adults. Paulownia yarn offers excellent absorbency and deodorizing properties, and there is data indicating that its deodorizing effect actually increases the more it is washed. Furthermore, by utilizing paulownia, a highly renewable resource, the Paulownia Yarn Towel is an environmentally friendly product that can be used for many years—a significant appeal as an item aligned with SDGs principles.
Through this visit, I gained a deeper understanding of NARIKOH’s longstanding contributions to the community, environmental initiatives, and efforts to strengthen connections among people. Their forward-looking approach aligns closely with the mission of Miss SAKE—to connect people and regions through Japanese culture—and I received great inspiration for my future activities.
Moving forward, I will continue to share the beauty of Japanese sake and culture both domestically and globally, and strive to contribute to regional development and a sustainable future. Following the example of NARIKOH, I aim to become someone who also “connects people, hearts, and communities,” and will devote myself to continuing meaningful activities.
I sincerely thank NARIKOH Co., Ltd. for their valuable time and warm welcome.
