EXPAT EXPO TOKYO 2021「Kurashu」ブースに、2021 Miss SAKE 松崎未侑がゲスト参加させていただきました。

来日当初日本酒の魅力に魅せられたものの、

大手メーカーがマーケティングでファン拡大に成功している一方、コマーシャルが少ない地方の小さな酒蔵様でも素晴らしい日本酒を造っていると気づいたそう。
日本の素晴らしい伝統を守りながら、在日外国人にもより理解しやすい形で小さな蔵の日本酒の魅力を届けたい。
そんな熱い思いとテクノロジーが融合して設立されたのが、Kurashuなのです。

私自身、Kurashu様の取り組みから、日本酒をはじめとして日本文化の保存には日本人のみならず、外国出身の方が貢献をしてくださっていることを改めて実感しました。日本人として、ベンジャミン様とフィリップ様の活動への感謝の念が堪えません。
EXPAT EXPO TOKYO 2021
今回、このKurashuが参加されていたのは、
日本唯一、日本在住の外国人のための展示会「EXPAT
2021年11月5日(金)・6日(土)に東京都立産業貿易センター 浜松町館にて、EXPAT EXPO TOKYO実行委員会（(株)イノベント）主催で実施され、沢山の在日外国人の方々が来場されました。
日本酒ブースも、「獺祭」で有名な旭酒造(株)や「后シリーズ」をプロデュースする吉乃友酒造(有)をはじめとして、インバウンドや海外輸出に意欲的な酒蔵様が集まっていらっしゃいました。
来場者の皆様との対話から、在日外国人の方々も日頃から日本酒を嗜まれていることがわかりました。
私がこれまでの大学生活で関わってきた「在日外国人の日本への愛着醸成」に、日本酒を通して働きかけられたことを大変光栄に思います。
今後も、様々なイベントでより多くの外国籍の方々に、大好きな日本酒の魅力をお伝えできるよう活動に励んでまいります。

I’m Miyu Matsuzaki, 2021 Miss SAKE.
I joined “Kurashu” booth at EXPAT EXPO TOKYO 2021.

The co-founders of Kuarashu, Mr. Benjamin Knopp and Mr. Philipp Maas, are Germans living in Japan.
When they first came to Japan, they were fascinated by sake. However, as there are tons of varieties of sake all over Japan, they found it difficult to find the right kind of sake that suits their taste.
I’m believe that most of the sake lover has faced this problem before, haven’t they?
Kurashu was developed to solve this problem.
All you have to do is to answer 9 questions, and the algorithm will create a sake profile and recommend more or less 4 bottles of sake just for you.

Kurashu’s Commitment
The part I resonated with the most was the thing was the sake breweries they partner with.
Although consumers tend to get attracted by large sake brewers with their attractive commercials and PR, there are still many local breweries that produce excellent sake, Mr. Benjamin realized.
So as to preserve the wonderful traditions of Japan, they decided to help deliver the charm of sake to foreigners living in Japan in a way that is easier to understand.
The story of how Kurashu was created is a fusion of such passion and technology.

Mr. Benjamin and Mr. Phillip told the customers about the origins of each brewery and their commitment to sake.
The customers seemed to be satisfied with the “sake tasting plus stories behind it.”
Kurashu’s efforts made me realize once again that not only Japanese people but also people from other countries are contributing to the preservation of Japanese culture, including sake. As a Japanese, I can’t help but feel grateful to Mr. Benjamin and Mr. Philip for their efforts.
EXPAT EXPO TOKYO 2021
This time, Kurashu was participating in the EXPAT EXPO TOKYO 2021, Japan’s only exhibition for foreigners living in Japan.
It was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center Hamamatsucho Building on November 5 and 6, 2021, hosted by the EXPAT EXPO TOKYO Executive Committee, and attracted many foreign residents of Japan.
In the expo, Asahi Shuzo Co., Ltd. famous for “Dassai” and other sake breweries who were eager to promote inbound tourists and overseas export opened their booth.
From conversations with visitors, I learned that foreigners living in Japan also enjoy drinking sake on a regular basis. It was such pleasure to meet my teacher WSET teacher Mr. Christopher Hughes and a lecturer at Temple University Mr. Sebastien Lemoine there.
I am very honored to have been able to contribute to “fostering attachment to Japan among foreigners living in Japan” through sake, which has been one of my aims in becoming Miss SAKE.
I will continue to work hard to convey the appeal of my favorite sake to as many foreign residents as possible.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Benjamin and Mr. Philip of Kurashu for having me.
