皆さま、こんにちは。2025 Miss SAKE 秋田の嶋宮里紗です。
この度は、2025年8月28日（木）、初代Miss SAKEである森田真衣さんのご同行のもと、タイ・バンコクにある在タイ王国日本国大使館を表敬訪問し、次席公使の西岡達史様、二等書記官の白佐和也様、参事官 広報文化部長の川村真紀様にご挨拶させていただく機会を頂戴しましたのでご報告いたします。
今回の訪問では、Miss SAKEの活動趣旨やこれまでの取り組みについてご説明するとともに、8月31日(日)に初開催となる「Miss SAKE Thailand」のご報告と今後の開催へのご後援・ご協力のお願いをさせていただきました。
初開催となる「Miss SAKE Thailand」に大きな関心を寄せていただき、次席公使の西岡様より、「タイにおけるアルコール規制は他のアジア諸国と同様に厳しい面があるものの、近年ブームが顕著である和食同様に、日本酒の地域性や季節感を丁寧に説明できる存在が、タイにおける日本酒への理解と関心を深める上で非常に重要である」と期待を寄せたお言葉を頂戴し、大変光栄に思いました。
また、2027年に予定されている日タイ修好140周年記念事業における親善大使の選出計画についてのお話も伺うことができました。その中で、Miss SAKE Thailandを親善大使の一人として選抜する可能性を示唆していただくだけでなく、Miss SAKE JAPANを含めた各県のMiss SAKEがそれぞれの代表県の魅力発信を兼ねて日タイ修好140周年記念事業に参加するという大変名誉なご提案を示唆していただきました。日タイ修好140周年は、大きな節目となるため、参加が可能になった際には、日本とタイの文化を国内外に広めるアンバサダーであるMiss SAKEが、微力ではございますがご貢献できるよう、日々の活動をより一層精進してまいりたいと思います。
今回の訪問を通じて、タイではアルコールの販売・飲用に制約があるものの、日本酒の文化的背景や蔵人の想いを伝えることで、現地の方々に新しい価値を届けられると確信しております。Miss SAKE Thailandの代表が日本の魅力を体現し、日本各地のテロワールを背景とした日本酒の奥深さをタイの皆さまに伝えていくことを心より願っております。

Hello everyone,
My name is Risa Shimamiya, Miss SAKE Akita 2025.
I am honored to share that on Thursday, August 28, 2025, I had the privilege of paying a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Thailand, located in Bangkok. I was accompanied by Ms. Mai Morita, the inaugural Miss SAKE, and had the opportunity to meet and greet Mr. Tatsushi Nishioka, Minister-Counselor; Mr. Kazuya Shirasa, Second Secretary; and Ms. Maki Kawamura, Counselor and Director of the Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department.
During the visit, we explained the mission and objectives of Miss SAKE as well as our past initiatives. We also presented the details of the upcoming inaugural “Miss SAKE Thailand” event, scheduled for Sunday, August 31, and kindly requested their support and cooperation for future activities.
We were deeply honored by the interest shown in the first-ever Miss SAKE Thailand. Mr. Nishioka expressed his expectations, stating that although alcohol regulations in Thailand are as strict as those in other Asian countries, just like the growing popularity of Japanese cuisine, it is crucial to have individuals who can thoroughly explain the regional and seasonal characteristics of sake. Such efforts, he noted, would significantly contribute to enhancing understanding and interest in Japanese sake in Thailand.
We also had the opportunity to learn about the plans for selecting goodwill ambassadors for the 140th anniversary of Japan–Thailand diplomatic relations, to be commemorated in 2027. Not only was the possibility raised of selecting Miss SAKE Thailand as one of the goodwill ambassadors, but there was also the honorable suggestion that Miss SAKE representatives from each prefecture, including Miss SAKE Japan, could participate in the anniversary events, promoting the unique attractions of their respective regions.
As the 140th anniversary marks a significant milestone, if given the opportunity to participate, we at Miss SAKE—ambassadors for spreading Japanese and Thai culture both domestically and internationally—would be honored to contribute in any way we can. We will continue striving with greater dedication in our daily activities.
Through this visit, I became even more convinced that despite the restrictions on the sale and consumption of alcohol in Thailand, by conveying the cultural background of sake and the passion of the brewers, we can deliver new value to the people of Thailand. I sincerely hope that the representatives of Miss SAKE Thailand will embody the charm of Japan and share the profound depth of Japanese sake, shaped by the unique terroirs of various regions, with the people of Thailand.
Lastly, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude for the valuable time and warm welcome we received despite your busy schedules. I sincerely look forward to your continued guidance and support.
