皆さん、こんにちは。2021 Miss SAKEの松崎未侑です。
2025年6月11日に在アラブ首長国連邦総領事邸にて開催されました、「日本吟醸酒協会主催テイスティング会」に出演しました。
過去13年間で、Miss SAKEは23カ国46都市を訪れ、年間およそ500のイベントに参加していますが、私はコロナ禍に8代目Miss SAKEに選出いただいたため、こうして日本国総領事公邸でのイベントに参加するのは初めてであり、4年越しに夢の実現をしたような1日でした。
現在はアブダビを拠点に、UAEや中東を中心に日本酒の魅力を伝える活動をしていますが、ドバイ市場で素晴らしいソムリエや日本酒のプロフェッショナルの皆様と出会うたびに、皆様の日本酒に対する情熱と敬意に心を打たれています。
本イベントへは43蔵が加盟する日本吟醸酒協会を中心に21蔵が参加をし、吟醸酒・古酒・純米酒など様々なプレミアム日本酒が振舞われました。
会の初めには、日本吟醸酒協会会長の南部美人社長 久慈様より主催のご挨拶、続いて領事 今西閣下による開催に際する祝辞をいただき、私から吟醸酒とペアリングの魅力についてプレゼンテーションをさせていただきました。
イベントを主催した日本吟醸酒協会（Japan Premium Sake Association）」の始まりは1907年。100年以上も続く権威的な全国新酒鑑評会での入賞を目指し、各地の蔵元が技術革新を進めました。1981年には、当時まだ市場にほとんど出回っていなかった吟醸酒を広めるため、先進的な蔵元たちによってこの協会が設立されました。それから44年。今や吟醸酒は、高品質な日本酒の代名詞となっています。
吟醸酒は、60％以下まで精米した米を、低温でじっくりと発酵させて造られる、フルーティーな香りが特徴の高品質な日本酒です。洗練された味わいと、華やかな香り「吟醸香」が特徴的で、世界中で愛されるお酒ですが、吟醸酒と一口に言っても、その味わいは多様でペアリングの可能性も無限大です。
卸・商社の関係者や名だたるレストランのソムリエやシェフ、GMを中心に90名以上もの参加者が押し寄せました。
ドバイに4年近く在籍する職員様からは、領事公邸主催イベント過去最高の盛り上がりを見せたイベントだった。お客様もずっと残って一生懸命質問されていたのが非常に印象的でしたと仰ってくださいました。
会の前には日本貿易振興機構(JETRO) にも伺い、市場についてご講義をいただきました。
JETROドバイ事務所 次長の吉村様より、2040年までに現在の人口の2倍以上である780万人に人口を増加させるというドバイマスタープランをはじめとして市場の可能性についてお話を賜り、農林水産省から派遣をされていらっしゃる奥村様より現在のUAEヘの輸出産品の傾向についてお話をいただきました。
アラブ首長国連邦は2024年度の国別日本酒輸出金額ランキングで20位ではあるものの、前年比170%以上とその成長率は驚異的です。
現地では2025年度五つ星級のホテルが12軒ほども新規オープンの予定があり、その中の多くに高級日本食レストランがオープンすることも予想されています。
大変親日で、日本食がラグジュアリーと認められるこの地での日本酒の輸出拡大への兆しは確かです。
私も、現地にベースを置きながらできる範囲で、日本酒業界へも寄与できるように精進して参ります。

2021 Miss SAKE appeared at the “Dubai Sake Tasting by the Japan Ginjo Sake Association”
Hello everyone, my name is Miyu Matsuzaki, 2021 Miss SAKE.
On June 11, 2025, Miss SAKE appeared at the “Japanese Premium Sake Association Tasting” held at the residence of the Consul General of Japan in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
In the past 13 years, Miss SAKE has visited 46 cities in 23 countries and participated in about 500 events per year, but since I was selected as the 8th Miss SAKE by the Corona Pandemic, this was my first time to participate in an event like this at the official residence of the Consul General of Japan. It was such an honour and it felt like a dream come true after 4 years.
I am currently based in Abu Dhabi, working to promote the appeal of sake in the UAE and the Middle East, and every time I meet wonderful sommeliers and sake professionals in the Dubai market, I am struck by the passion and respect they have for sake.
21 sake breweries participated in the event, led by the Japan Premium Sake Association, which has 43 member breweries, and a variety of premium sake was served, including ginjo-shu, koshu, junmai-shu, and more.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Kuji Kuji, President of Nanbu Bijin and Chairman of the Japan Premium Sake Association, gave the opening remarks, followed by a congratulatory address by His Excellency Imanishi, Consul General of Japan. After, I gave a presentation on the appeal of ginjo sake and pairings.
The Japan Premium Sake Association, which hosted the event, began in 1981, a group of forward-thinking breweries founded the association to promote ginjo-shu, which at the time was barely available on the market. This was to bring the quality of sake high up and to win awards at the prestigious National New Sake Competition started in 1907, which had been held for more than 100 years. Forty-four years later, the association has grown to become one of the most important sake breweries in the world. Today, ginjo-shu is synonymous with high quality sake.
Ginjo-shu is a high quality sake with a fruity aroma, made from rice polished to less than 60% and fermented slowly at low temperatures. Characterized by its refined taste and gorgeous “ginjo aroma,” it is a sake loved around the world. Even within the category of “ginjo-shu”, it has a broad spectrum of flavor profile, and the pairing possibilities are endless.
More than 90 participants, mainly from wholesalers and trading companies, as well as sommeliers, chefs, and GMs from wellknown restaurants, gathered to the event.
A staff member who has been in Dubai for nearly four years said that the event was the most booming ever hosted by the Consulate General’s official residence. She added that it was very impressive to see many of the guests stayed and asked questions throughout the event.
Before the meeting, we visited the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and had a lecture on the market.
Ms. Yoshimura, Deputy Director of JETRO Dubai Office, spoke about the market potential, including the Dubai Master Plan to increase the population to 7.8 million, more than double the current population, by 2040, and Ms. Okumura, who was dispatched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, spoke about current export trends to the UAE. Although the United Arab Emirates ranks 20th in the ranking of sake exports by country in 2024, its growth rate is astounding, at more than 170% over the previous year. There are plans to open about a dozen new five-star hotels in the country in 2025, many of which are expected to feature upscale Japanese restaurants. There are sure to be signs of increased sake exports to this very pro-Japanese region, where Japanese food is recognized as a luxury.
I will continue to make every effort to contribute to the sake industry as much as I can while maintaining my base in the region.
