皆様、こんにちは。2018 ミス日本酒の須藤亜紗実です。
7月29日、オーストラリア・メルボルンにて複数のSAKEバー・和食レストランを経営していらっしゃるアンドレ・ビショップ様に、一般社団法人ミス日本酒 愛葉宣明代表とともにお会いして参りました。
アンドレ・ビショップ様はオーストラリアにおけるSAKEのプロモーションにご尽力して来られ、2000年に初めてご自身の日本酒バーをオープンされて以来、国内でのSAKEの普及を牽引して来られました。
現在では複数の店舗を経営される傍、SAKEの流通や教育にも携わっていらっしゃいます。
そうした功績から2013 年には酒サムライに叙任されていらっしゃり、また2014年には京都国際観光大使にも選出されていらっしゃいます。
この度は、アンドレ・ビショップ様とミス日本酒、そしてオーストラリアと日本酒との今後のコラボレーションについてお話をする機会を頂戴いたしました。
アンドレ・ビショップ様は幼少期より大変な親日家でいらっしゃったそうで、「私はオーストラリア人だけれども、心は日本人なのです」と、にこやかにお話ししてくださいました。
そんなビショップ様は日本文化の象徴であるSAKEの魅力に魅せられたことを契機に、その魅力を自国の方々に届けることを自身の使命と考えられ、これまで精力的に活動を行って来られたそうです。
そして「日本酒を通して日本文化の魅力を国内外へ発信する」というミス日本酒の理念にも大変大きな共感を示してくださいました。
日本酒や日本文化の魅力を世界に広めていくためには、日本人である私達が声を上げるだけでは、やはり力が及びません。
『海外の人々自身が日本酒の魅力を知り、彼ら自身が自国において、そしてまた世界に向けてSAKEの魅力を発信する。』
そんな広がりを見せることができたら、SAKEの未来はもっともっと輝かしいものになるのではないでしょうか？
この度、アンドレ・ビショップ様と『SAKEの未来・発展』についてお話をする中で、お互いに強く共感しあう瞬間に何度も巡り会い、オーストラリアと日本で同じ未来を願うパートナーとして、多くの理念を共有し合うことができました。
今後アンドレ・ビショップ様とミス日本酒が、どのようなコラボレーションを生み出していけるのか、私自身も大変楽しみにしております。
ミス日本酒は今年で設立6年目を迎え、国内のみならず海外でも多様な展開を迎えようとしております。日本酒、そして日本文化の発信を担う5代目ミス日本酒として、私自身一層気を引き締め、励んで参りたいと思っております。

Hello, everyone. This is Asami Sudo, 2018 Miss SAKE.
On July 29th, Mr. Nobuaki Aiba, the representative director of Miss SAKE Association and I met Mr. Andre Bishop, Melbourne-based Japanese restaurateur and SAKE bar owner.
Mr. Andre Bishop has dedicated himself to promote SAKE in Australia since he opened his first sake bar in 2000. Now he works as sake distributor and sake educator besides restaurateur and bar owner.
For such a great contribution to SAKE promotion in Australia, he was inaugurated as one of SAKE samurais in 2013, and selected as a Visit Kyoto Ambassador in 2014.
This time, we could talk about a potential collaboration of Mr. Andre Bishop and Miss SAKE Association, as well as that of Australia and SAKE.
Mr. Bishop has long been familiar with Japanese culture since his young age, and he told that he was born as an Australian but inside himself is quite Japanese. We were very glad that we could feel his unconditional passion and fondness for Japanese culture through all the conversation with him.
He told us that he thought it as his mission to convey the greatness of SAKE, which is one of the symbols of Japanese culture, to Australian people. And he also showed us great empathy for our Mission as Miss SAKEs to share the greatness of Japanese culture through SAKE with people inside and outside Japan.
To introduce the attractions of SAKE and Japanese culture overseas, it is not enough that only we, Japanese, raise our voices.
But what if a lot of foreign people get attracted by SAKE, and convey its greatness in their own countries?
If such a future is realized, we believe the future of SAKE would be much brighter.
During the valuable opportunity to talk with Mr. Bishop, we experienced a lot of moments to feel strong empathy for each other’s philosophies on SAKE, which made us convinced that we can be a strong partners to head for the same future in Australia and Japan.
As 2018 Miss SAKE, I myself am greatly looking forward to the future collaboration of Mr. Bishop and Miss SAKE Association.
This year is the sixth year of Miss SAKE Association and we are going to promote various developments inside and outside Japan. So, as Miss SAKE, a global ambassador of SAKE and Japanese culture, I’d like to continue to try my best.
It was such a precious opportunity for us to talk with Mr. Andre Bishop, this time.
We extend our appreciation to him for making a valuable time in his busy schedule.
