皆さま、こんにちは。
2024 Miss SAKE鳥取 林原有香です。
真っ白で幻想的な雪景色の中、鳥取県東部の八頭町観光協会様主催の若桜鉄道地酒列車に参加させていただきました。
この日の列車は、雪景色に映えるレトロな列車「昭和号」にて。
若桜鉄道沿線は前日までに降り積もった雪ですっかり雪景色。参加者の方々は車窓からの雪見酒を和やかな雰囲気の中楽しまれていました。
太田酒造場様、田中農場様、北岡本店様(鳥取県八頭町に工場あり)の日本酒と、焼きサバ寿司で有名な、やまね屋さんの地元食材を使った彩り豊かでボリューム満点のお弁当を一緒にいただきながら、直接造り手さんから日本酒や米に関する解説を伺うという、大変贅沢な時間を過ごすことのできる本イベントは締め切りを待たずに満員御礼。
日本酒好き、電車好き、旅好きの方にとっては特に魅力的なイベントのようで、毎回参加されている方、地元の方、普段はビール派だけれどイベントが気になり参加された方、県外からの方等で賑わいました。
若桜駅から郡家駅まで往復約2時間。
折り返し地点の郡家駅では、広々としたコミュニティスペースがあり、復路列車出発までの間にミニ日本酒講座を行わせていただきました。
日本酒の分類、ラベルの見方、指標の意味、鳥取特有の強力米について等、みなさんほろ酔い気分の和やかな雰囲気の中お話させていただくことができました。
味わいの背景を知っていただくことで、皆様が日頃更に日本酒を楽しんでいただいたり、ちょっとしたプレゼントにも日本酒を選んでいただくきっかけとなれば嬉しく思います。
停車駅では、どこからともなく寅さん(寅さんに扮装した地元の方)が現れたり、隼駅では駅長さんから駅名ラベルの日本酒を車窓越しにいただくというスペシャルな企画も。
今回4回目の開催ですが、日本酒のみではなく、参加者を毎回リピーターにしてしまうユーモアにも溢れた魅惑の列車。今回は遥々神奈川からの参加者もいらっしゃいました。
今回ご参加できなかった方、来年はぜひ。毎年リピーターも増えますが一両編成で座席数は限られますので、八頭町観光協会さんのサイトからチェックしてくださいね。
終始地元の皆さまのあたたかさが溢れる時間でした。ありがとうございました。
Hello, everyone!
I had the pleasure of joining the “Wakasa Railway Local Sake Train,”
The area along the Wakasa Railway was transformed into a winter wonderland with snow.
Onboard, we savored sake from Ota Sake Brewery, Tanaka Farm, and Kitaoka Brewery, paired with bento boxes from Yamane-ya, famous for their grilled mackerel sushi.
The sake makers themselves joined us to share insights into the production of their sake and rice.
While the journey, which lasted about two hours roundtrip, I had an opportunity to host a mini sake lecture.I talked about sake classifications, how to read sake labels, the meaning behind various indicators, and the unique Tottori-grown Gouriki sake rice.
Along the way, there were delightful surprises and warm welcome at each stop such as the stationmaster handed sake with station-themed labels directly to passengers through the train window. These charming touches made the journey truly special.
This was the fourth time the event was held, and it’s easy to see why so many participants become repeat attendees.
It’s not just about the sake, it’s the humor and warmth of the experience that keeps people coming back. This time, we even welcomed a participant all the way from Kanagawa!
