Courtesy Visit to Mr. Jun Yoshizawa, President & CEO of Zentsu – 2025 Miss SAKE Japan Chisato Tateno

Hello everyone,
My name is Chisato Tateno, 2025 Miss SAKE Japan.

On Wednesday, January 14, I had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to Zentsu (Zenkoku Tsuun Co., Ltd.) at its headquarters in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. During the visit, I met with Mr. Jun Yoshizawa, President & CEO, and Mr. Toyohiko Anbe, Executive Officer, General Manager of the Planning & Administration Department, and Head of the Tohoku Branch.

About Zentsu (Zenkoku Tsuun Co., Ltd.)

Zentsu is a comprehensive logistics company that has long supported Japan’s distribution network, with a particular strength in rail container transportation. As a designated JR container agent, the company places rail transport at the core of its nationwide logistics network, while seamlessly combining truck transport, coastal and ocean shipping, as well as domestic and international air freight to deliver optimal logistics solutions tailored to diverse customer needs.

In addition, Zentsu operates a wide range of businesses beyond transportation, including warehousing (with bonded warehouse authorization), inventory management and distribution, cargo handling and logistics equipment brokerage, freight accounting services, and non-life insurance agency services. In today’s logistics environment—where efficiency and environmental responsibility are increasingly important—Zentsu’s ability to flexibly integrate multiple modes of transportation stands out as a key strength. Through these initiatives, the company continues to support people’s daily lives and industries from the front lines of logistics as essential social infrastructure, making a significant contribution to the sustainable development of Japanese society.

Connecting People to People, and Regions to Regions

During this visit, I also had the opportunity to introduce the activities of Miss SAKE. Beyond promoting sake, we are engaged in sharing the appeal of Japan’s craftsmanship and manufacturing spirit—embodied in kimono, rice cultivation, and traditional crafts—as part of the broader value of Made in Japan, both domestically and internationally. I also spoke about our regional competitions and our educational initiative, the Nadeshiko Program, which aims to foster the next generation.

There is a clear common thread between the work of Zentsu and the mission of Miss SAKE: connecting people to  people, and regions to regions. Through rail and other diverse transportation methods, Zentsu safely and reliably delivers goods produced across Japan, linking production areas with consumers and supporting society and industry. In a similar way, Miss SAKE conveys the character of local climates and the passion of brewers through sake, connecting people’s hearts and cultural backgrounds. While logistics delivers tangible goods and our activities focus on sharing values and stories, both serve as bridges that carry regional strengths into the future and allow the richness of Japan to circulate throughout society. I was truly honored to share this perspective during our time together.

Through this courtesy visit, I once again realized that logistics is far more than the act of moving goods—it is a profoundly meaningful endeavor that underpins industries and everyday life across Japan. By continuously connecting regions through a diverse combination of transportation methods, Zentsu’s long-standing efforts have supported the very sustainability of Japan’s economy and society.

As Miss SAKE, having the opportunity to learn directly from a company that supports nationwide social infrastructure greatly broadened my perspective. I was deeply impressed by how the steady accumulation of work behind the scenes sustains trust and a sense of security throughout Japan. Inspired by this mindset, I hope to continue approaching each of my activities with care and sincerity, steadily building stronger connections with society and local communities.
