Miss SAKE attended the “Harajuku Kimono Marche” by Mimatsu [English Below]

 

皆さま、こんにちは。

2023 Miss SAKE Japan 山田琴子です。

すっかり秋の涼やかな風を感じる様になりました10月6日~7日、原宿駅前のウィズ原宿 3階LIFORKにて開催された株式会社三松様のきものを彩る和小物が集うイベント『原宿キモノマルシェ』にMiss SAKEが参加いたしました。

10月6日は、2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子、2023 Miss SAKE 準グランプリ 斎藤ひかりが、10月7日は2023 Miss SAKE 秋田 高橋凛、2023 Miss SAKE 山梨 宍戸美優が伺いました。

三松様とは平素よりMiss SAKEの活動において大変大切であるお振袖をお貸しいただいており、この度は三松様のイベントのお手伝いができるということで大変楽しみにしておりました。

今までお借りしたお振袖を少しご紹介します！

 

今回参加いたしました『原宿キモノマルシェ』は、きものが好き、憧れがある、これから挑戦してみたいけど少しハードルが高いと感じている人に、日常的に和テイストに親しんでいただきたという三松様の想いが込められたイベントです。

私達は、今回三松様の新作の色違いのお振袖を着用させていただきました。同じ模様でも、色が違うだけで雰囲気が大きく異なることに大変驚きました。帯や帯締め、帯揚げに髪飾りでも更に変化がつけられることがお着物の楽しさだなと感じました。

会場では、三松様の新作のお着物も展示されておりました。お着物の中には、楽器やドーナツなどのスイーツなどが描かれたものもあり、自分らしく、楽しくお着物を着ていただきたいという三松様の想いを感じました。

スイーツを食べに行く際には、スイーツの半衿に帯飾りをつけたり、お出かけする場所によって小物を考える楽しみも広がるなと感じました。

私が特に素敵だなと思ったのは、ステンドガラスのような柄の帯です。夜の空を描いているような美しい青の模様は、横浜みなとみらいで夜にディナーを楽しむ際に美しい夜景に合わせたら素敵だなと感じました。

お着物は古典柄でないといけないといった固定概念があったのですが、様々な美しい模様を見ている中で、お着物の中でももっと自由に気軽に私も様々な柄を楽しみたいと感じました。

ご来場のお客様も、皆様様々なお着物を纏われており、10月に合わせたハロウィン模様や、秋のコスモスなど思い思いに自分らしくオシャレを楽しまれている姿がとても輝いていました。

会場奥には、きものの和小物を扱うお店が11あり、様々な美しい和小物が販売されておりました。自分だけのイラストを半衿に描けるワークショップや、パーソナルカラー診断などワークショップも開催されており、会場はお着物が大好きな方々の笑顔で溢れておりました。印染杉下様では、干支の鮮やかで美しいイラストが描かれている手拭いが販売されており、是非お祝いの際に包装紙ではなくおめでたい鯛の柄の手拭いで贈り物を包み想いを込めたいなと思いました。

イベントステージもあり、私達Miss SAKEの登壇以外にも、俳優の佐々木蔵之介様のご登壇や、早稲田大学の三味線サークル「三津巴」による三味線演奏など「和」に関連したステージプログラムも多数開催されておりました。

佐々木蔵之介様がご登壇の際に、着用なさっていらしたお着物と一緒にお写真を撮りました。会場には、鮮やかなお着物を着用なさっている男性も多くいらっしゃり、男性のお着物も色や素材、柄にバラエティがあり、爽やかにお着物を着こなされる姿はとても素敵でした。

Autumn has arrived, and we can feel the cool breeze in the air. On October 6th and 7th, I had the pleasure of attending ‘Harajuku Kimono Marché,’ an event hosted by Mimatsu Co., Ltd. It took place on the 3rd floor of LIFORK in front of Harajuku Station.

 

On October 6th, 2023 Miss SAKE Kotoko Yamada and 2023 Miss SAKE Runner-up Hikari Saito participated, and on October 7th, 2023 Miss SAKE Akita Rin Takahashi and 2023 Miss SAKE Yamanashi Miyu Shishido joined the event.

We have a special connection with Mimatsu Co. as they have generously provided us with furisode (long-sleeved kimono) for our Miss SAKE activities. I was looking forward to assisting them with their event this time.

The ‘Harajuku Kimono Marché’ event was created with the idea of introducing people who love kimono, have aspirations towards kimono, or find it a bit challenging to wear kimono in their daily lives. This event was designed to make the experience of incorporating a touch of Japanese style into daily life more accessible.

We had the opportunity to wear Mimatsu’s latest furisode creations during the event. I was astonished by how different the atmosphere becomes just by changing the colors while using the same pattern. It’s incredible how accessories such as obi (sashes), obijime (obi cords), obiage (obi scarves), and hair ornaments can add even more variety to the outfit. I realized that’s what makes wearing a kimono so enjoyable.

The event also featured a showcase of Mimatsu’s new kimono designs. Some of them had illustrations of musical instruments and sweets like donuts. This is a testament to Mimatsu’s vision of allowing people to enjoy kimono in a way that represents their unique personalities. It’s fascinating to think about how you can coordinate your accessories based on where you’re going, such as adding specific obijime for a visit to a sweets shop or wearing something different for a dinner with a beautiful night view.

One kimono that particularly caught my eye was the obi with a pattern resembling stained glass. The beautiful blue patterns that look like the night sky could create a mesmerizing ensemble, especially when matched with a night view in Yokohama Minato Mirai.

Traditionally, I used to think that kimono should have classic patterns, but while exploring various beautiful designs, I realized that I want to embrace a sense of freedom when it comes to kimono patterns. The event visitors also expressed their creativity through their choice of kimono, with themes ranging from Halloween motifs for October to autumn cosmos patterns. Their individuality and stylish choices shone brightly.

The venue included 11 shops specializing in kimono accessories, offering a wide range of beautiful items. Workshops, such as drawing your illustrations on half-collar fabric and personal color analysis, were also held, enhancing the overall experience. The venue was filled with the smiles of kimono enthusiasts, and the atmosphere was vibrant.

At one booth, they had tenugui hand towels with vivid and beautiful illustrations of zodiac animals and other motifs. I couldn’t help but think it would be wonderful to use these auspicious ‘tai’ patterned towels for gift wrapping during celebrations, rather than regular wrapping paper.

The event had a stage where various programs related to ‘wa’ (Japanese culture) were presented, in addition to our Miss SAKE appearances. Actor Kuranosuke Sasaki graced the stage, and Waseda University’s shamisen (traditional three-stringed instrument) club performed, bringing a taste of Japan to the audience.

After Mr. Kuranosuke Sasaki made his appearance, we took a photo together in the kimono he wore. Many men at the event were also seen sporting vibrant kimonos. It was impressive to see the variety in men’s kimono, from colors and fabrics to patterns. They looked fantastic and displayed their unique style.

Why not try wearing a kimono for your next outing and feel a little extra special? It’s amazing how a small change like this can elevate your mood.

I’m incredibly grateful to Mimatsu for this enlightening and educational opportunity. As an ambassador for promoting the charm of Japanese culture both in Japan and abroad, I hope to convey the joy of wearing various styles of kimono.
