ウィーンの街にも秋の彩りが広がり始めた10月1日から11日まで、オーストリア・ウィーンにてSake Week Viennaが開催されました。

昨年に続き、Miss SAKEとして各種イベントに参加することができ、再びオーストリアの皆さまと日本酒の魅力を分かち合えたことを大変嬉しく思います。

ウィーン滞在中、大変光栄なことにオーストリア連邦産業院に弊社団 代表理事 大西美香と共に表敬訪問に伺う機会を頂きました。

当日は、ジェトロ・ウィーン事務所の所長である神野達雄様にもご同席いただきました。ご多用のところお時間を賜り、心より感謝申し上げます。

オーストリア連邦産業院（WKO）とは？

オーストリア連邦産業院（ドイツ語: Wirtschaftskammer Österreich, WKO）は、オーストリアの全ての企業を支える公的な組織で、日本の商工会議所にあたる存在です。オーストリア経済の安定と発展を支える、まさに中核的なソーシャル・パートナーとしての機能を果たしています。

WKOの主な役割は以下の通りです。

1. 経済界の声を届ける
   国内外の政策の場で、会員企業の立場や利益を代表して守ります。
2. 企業活動をサポートする
   経営や法律、貿易に関する専門的なサービスを提供し、企業の成長や競争力を後押しします。
3. 国際貿易を促進する
   オーストリア企業の海外進出を支援し、国際的なビジネスの拡大をサポートします。

日本国内では、オーストリア大使館商務部（ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Tokyo）としてその役割を担い、オーストリア企業の日本市場進出を支援するほか、日・オーストリア間の経済交流や情報発信にも力を注いでいます。

 

表敬訪問：オーストリア連邦産業院

この度、大変ありがたいことに、オーストリア連邦産業院対外経済局長のミヒャエル・オッター氏と、アジア・オセアニア地域担当地域マネージャーのマルクス・ハース氏のお二方にお会いする機会を頂戴いたしました。

オッター氏は、直前まで兵庫で開催されていた会合に出席されており、日本からご帰国されたばかりのタイミングでお目にかかることができました。ご多忙の中お時間を頂戴し、心より感謝申し上げます。

お話の中で、私が物流業界で働いていることをお伝えすると、オッター氏が日本の「ラストマイル」の精度の高さについて触れてくださいました。

オッター氏は以前、日本を旅行された際に、ご自身の荷物を宅急便で次の滞在先に送ったそうです。発送した荷物が翌日には確実に手元に届き、その速さと正確さに大変感動されたとのことです。

さらに、今回の日本出張では姫路城をご覧になり、その美しさに心を打たれたこともお話しくださいました。

自国の素晴らしさに気づかず、当たり前になっていることは多いものですが、海外の方の視点で改めて称賛していただくことで、私自身も日本の配送の正確さと信頼性や文化の魅力を再認識することができました。

 

日本酒「獺祭」とのコラボ

2025年10月13日をもって閉幕した大阪・関西万博。
オーストリアももちろんパビリオンを出展しており、連日多くの来場者が、アイコニックなパビリオンの前で写真を撮るなどして賑わっていました。

オーストリア連邦産業院でも、万博開催の数年前から「万博に向けて何か日本の商品とコラボできないか」と検討していたそうです。オーストリア連邦産業院のハラルド・マーラー総裁が、ウィーンの寿司店で日本酒「獺祭」を味わった体験を覚えており、それがきっかけで「獺祭」とのコラボレーションが実現しました。

オーストリア連邦産業院の主導のもと、オーストリアとのコラボレーションによる日本酒「獺祭 未来を作曲」を完成させました。本商品は、ウィーン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団のメンバーによる「フィルハーモニック・テイスト」と、日本センチュリー交響楽団が演奏したヨハン・シュトラウスⅡ世の「入り江のワルツ」を編集し、一つの楽曲としてまとめた曲を、発酵段階の獺祭のタンクに聴かせて仕上げた特別な日本酒です。この「獺祭 未来を作曲」は、2025年大阪・関西万博オーストリアパビリオンにて販売が開始されました。（獺祭Store WEB店 ホームページ引用）

この万博限定のコラボ日本酒は、オーストリアと日本の文化や食の魅力をつなぐ特別な一品として、多くの来場者の注目を集め、1,000本以上が販売されるなど大きな反響を呼びました。

オーストリア連邦産業院は、万博をきっかけに築いたこうしたコラボレーションを、今後も可能であれば続けていきたいと考えているとのことです。

オッター氏とハース氏のお話しを伺い、日本酒を通してオーストリアの芸術文化と日本の食文化の交流がさらに広がる可能性があることを、大変心強く感じました。今後もこのような文化の架け橋が多く生まれることを期待しています。

Hello everyone.
This is Hikari Saito, 2023 Miss Sake Runner-up.

From October 1st to 11th, the Japanese sake event, Sake Week Vienna was held in Vienna, Austria.

Following last year, I was delighted to participate in various events as Miss SAKE and shared the charm of Japanese sake and culture with everyone in Austria.

During my stay in Vienna, I had the great honor, together with Mika Onishi, Executive Director of Miss SAKE Association, to pay a courtesy visit to the Austrian Economic Chambers (Wirtschaftskammer Österreich, WKO).

We were also joined by Mr. Tatsuo Kamino, Director of JETRO Wien. 

I sincerely appreciate the time everyone kindly spared us despite their busy schedules.

 

Introducing the Austrian Economic Chambers (WKO)

The Austrian Economic Chambers (German: Wirtschaftskammer Österreich, WKO) is a public organization that supports all businesses in Austria and serves as a central social partner, playing a key role in maintaining the stability and development of the Austrian economy.

In Japan, the WKO fulfills its role through the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy (ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Tokyo). 

This office supports Austrian companies entering the Japanese market and promotes economic exchange and information sharing between Austria and Japan.

I had the great honor of meeting Mr. Michael Otter, Director, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, and Mr. Markus Haas, Regional Director, Asia & Oceania. 

Mr. Otter had just returned from a meeting held in Japan, and we were fortunate to meet him immediately upon his return. I am truly grateful that they took the time to meet with us despite their busy schedules.

During our conversation, I mentioned that I work in the logistics industry, and Mr. Otter spoke about the remarkable precision of Japan’s Last Mile Delivery system.

He shared that during a previous trip to Japan, he sent his luggage to his next destination via courier. The items arrived the very next day, and he was greatly impressed by the speed and reliability of the service. 

Additionally, during his recent trip to Japan, he had the opportunity to visit Himeji Castle, and he spoke about how deeply moved he was by its beauty.

It’s often easy to take the strengths of our own country for granted, but hearing such compliments from an international perspective made me truly appreciate once again both the reliability of Japanese logistics and the richness of our culture.

Collaboration with Dassai Sake

The Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, which concluded on October 13, 2025, was bustling with visitors every day. 

Austria also participated with its own pavilion, where crowds gathered in front of the iconic structure to take photos and enjoy the exhibits.

The Austrian Economic Chambers had been considering for several years prior to the Expo how they might collaborate with a Japanese product. This led to the idea of Japanese sake. 

The initiative was inspired by Mr.Harald Mahrer, President of the Austrian Economic Chambers, who remembered enjoying Dassai Sake at a sushi restaurant in Vienna. This experience became the starting point for the collaboration with Dassai.

The Expo-limited collaborative Sake attracted significant attention as a special product connecting Austrian art and culture with Japanese culinary traditions. 

Over 1,000 bottles were sold, generating a strong response from visitors. WKO expressed that they hope to continue this collaboration whenever possible, building on the connections established through the Expo.

Through my conversation with Mr. Otter and Mr. Haas, I felt very encouraged by the possibility that, through Japanese sake, the exchange between Austrian artistic culture and Japanese food culture could expand even further. I hope that many more such cultural bridges will continue to be built in the future.

I would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Austrian Economic Chambers for kindly taking the time to meet with me.

Through my activities as Miss SAKE, I will continue to do my best to help foster cultural exchange between Austria and Japan.
