朝の空気に初秋の気配が感じられるようになりました9月11日、国税庁様にて国税庁長官 住澤整様に一般沙団法人Miss SAKE 代表理事 大西美香同行の元、2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子が表敬訪問に伺いました。
訪問では、国税庁長官 住澤整様、国税庁次長 星屋和彦様、国税庁 長官官房審議官 植松利夫様、国税庁酒税課長 三浦隆様、国税庁 酒類業振興・輸出促進室 室長 保井久理子様、 企画専門官 反町悠子様がいらっしゃいました。
私たちの大好きな日本酒の発展に携わってくださっている国税庁の皆様に直接お会いし、Miss SAKEの活動を紹介する機会を頂けたことは、私たちにとって大変光栄なことでした。
私と、代表大西よりMiss SAKEの活動内容やこれからの展望について詳細に説明させていただきました。ナデシコプログラムでの学びや、グランプリ就任後の活動、Miss SAKEの世界大会を通した国際的な日本酒の普及活動についてお話をさせていただきました。
国税庁長官 住澤整様は私たちの活動に関心を寄せ、日本酒の国内外での需要拡大に対する期待を示してくださいました。また、Miss SAKEの海外活動を通して私が体感をした世界での日本への興味や生の声についても心を込めてお伝え致しました。
国税庁次長 星屋和彦様は、私たちの初代Miss SAKEである森田真衣さんのこともご存知で、同じMiss SAKEファミリーの一員として大変私も誇らしかったです。
＜国税庁様と日本酒のつながり＞
皆様は、国税庁様が日本酒の発達に関わっていることをご存知ですか？
国税庁は、全国で56,000人もの人がいらっしゃる大変大きな国の組織で、その中にあります国税局の中に、私たちが日々お世話になっている税務署などがあります。そんな国税庁の中には、「酒税課」というところがあり、日本酒を含むお酒に関しての様々なお仕事が行われています。
~酒税課のお仕事~
酒税に関する事務の企画・立案、指導・監督、法令の解釈等のほか、酒類の製造・販売業の免許に関する事務、酒類業の産業行政事務等を担当しています。 中小企業の多い清酒、しょうちゅう等の製造業及び酒類販売業の活性化・経営革新に向けた取組への支援、規制緩和への適切な対応、酒類容器のリサイクルの推進等環境問題への取組などにも取り組んでいます。

国税庁様が、酒税行政をなさっている理由は明治時代に遡ります。
明治32年、酒税収入は国税収入の首位となり、翌年には国税収入全体の４割を酒税が占めていたそうです。
現在は、国税収入全体の2%（約1.4兆円）にはなっていますが、酒税は景気に左右されにくい、国にとっても大変重要な安定した財源であったことから、国税庁の管轄下に置かれることになったそうです。

そんな国税庁様から、私達Miss SAKEも日本酒の魅力を世界へ発信するアンバサダーとしてナデシコプログラムにて国税庁 鑑定企画官室 井原信二様、川崎千尋様より、ファイナリスト20名一同講義を賜りました。

この表敬訪問を通じて、2023 Miss SAKE JAPANとして、今後とも、日本酒の振興と国際的な普及を推進する一員として、今後もさらなる前進を果たしていく覚悟がより一層強まりました。
今後も日本酒が大好きな私として、そしてMiss SAKE Japan代表として、さまざまな機会を通じて日本酒の魅力を世界中に伝え続けていきます。

2023 Miss SAKE Kotoko Yamada’s Courtesy Visit to National Tax Agency
Hello, everyone.
I’m Kotoko Yamada, 2023 Miss SAKE.
As the morning air starts to hint at early autumn, on September 11th, accompanied by Ms. Mika Onishi, Executive Director Miss SAKE, I had the privilege of making a courtesy visit to Mr. Hitoshi Sumisawa、 Commissioner of the National Tax Agency and his team.
During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Hitoshi Sumisawa, Commissioner of the National Tax Agency, Mr. Kazuhiko Hoshiya, Vice Commissioner of the National Tax Agency, Mr. Toshio Uematsu, Counselor to the Commissioner of the National Tax Agency, Mr. Takashi Miura, Director of the Liquor Tax Division, Ms. Kuriko Yasui, Director of the Liquor Industry Promotion and Export Promotion Office, and Ms. Sorimachi Yuko from the Liquor Industry Promotion and Export Promotion Office.
It was an honor to meet with key figures who contribute to the development of our beloved Japanese sake industry, and to share the activities of Miss SAKE.
During our visit, Ms. Onishi and I provided detailed explanations about Miss SAKE’s activities, the allure of Japanese sake, and our future prospects. In particular, we emphasized the international dissemination of Japanese sake through Miss SAKE’s global competition and activities.
Commissioner Sumisawa expressed great interest in our activities and his expectations for expanding domestic and international demand for Japanese sake. We also engaged in deep discussions about the interest in Sake within foreign countries and shared the raw voices that I experienced during Miss SAKE’s international activities.
Mr. Kazuhiko Hoshiya, Vice Commissioner of the National Tax Agency, was familiar with our first Miss SAKE, Ms. Mai Morita, which was a great honor as part of the Miss SAKE family.
【The Connection between the National Tax Agency and Sake】
Did you know that the National Tax Agency plays a significant role in the development of the Japanese sake industry?
The National Tax Agency is a large government organization with approximately 56,000 employees nationwide. Within the agency, there are regional tax offices, including the tax offices that we all rely on for tax-related matters. One of the departments within the National Tax Agency is the Liquor Tax Division, which handles various tasks related to alcoholic beverages, including sake.

Thanks to the National Tax Agency, Miss SAKE received lectures on the evaluation of sake from Mr. Shinji Ihara and Ms. Chihiro Kawasaki, both from the National Tax Agency, as part of the Miss SAKE’s Nadeshiko Program.

Through this courtesy visit, as 2023 Miss SAKE Japan, I have strengthened my determination to continue advancing as a member who promotes the growth of sake and its international dissemination.
As someone who loves sake, and as the representative of Miss SAKE Japan, I will continue to convey the charm of sake to the world through various opportunities.
