皆さま、こんにちは。

2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子です。

長かった残暑もようやく峠をすぎました9月5日、衆議院議員 おおつき紅葉様主催の「感謝と躍進の集い 地酒の夕べ」に2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子と、2023 Miss SAKE 準グランプリ 齋藤ひかりが伺いました。

この会の主催であります衆議院議員 おおつき紅葉様は、北海道小樽市がご出身で、以前はテレビ局にて政治部の記者として働かれていらっしゃいました。

ですが、昨今のコロナ禍での大きな打撃を受けた故郷北海道の政治の流れを変えるため、そして自分の生まれ育った地域の再生を図るため、記者から国政の道へ進むことを決意なさったそうです。

議員であると同時に大築様は、お二人の小学生のお子様がいらっしゃるお母様でもあり、女性がさらに活躍できる社会、子育て環境の整備、地域の過疎化の解消などの課題にも注力して向き合っていきたいと述べられております。

同じ女性として日本の未来のためにご活躍なさる姿に、私達も大変エネルギーをいただきました。

 

 

乾杯ののち、私たちMiss SAKEの活動についてご紹介させていただく機会をいただきました。Miss SAKEの国内外での様々な活動や、日本酒の外交のツールとしての可能性、そして二世古酒造様ついてお話をさせていただきました。

多くの方々に私たちの活動や取り組みに興味を持っていただき、温かい応援のお言葉をいただいたことは、今後の活動に向けて大きな力となりました。

この日は、大築様の故郷北海道より沢山の地酒が振舞われ、私たちMiss SAKEもその中で日本酒のご紹介のお手伝いをさせていただきました。

日本酒は、北海道虻田郡倶知安町、二世古酒造様のものが全部で10種類ございました。特に印象的だったのが、地元倶知安農業高校と二世古酒造様のコラボによってできた「忠（なかごころ）」という日本酒です。

倶知安農業高校の学生が育てた、全国的にも大変評価が高まっている北海道産の酒米「彗星」を使って作られているという、お米もお水も作り手も北海道産という北海道のテロワールを感じる一杯でした。

このような素晴らしいご縁をいただきましたことを、大変光栄に思っております。

大築様、関係者の皆様、この度は、貴重な機会を誠にありがとうございました。

Hello everyone,

I’m Kotoko Yamada, the 2023 Miss SAKE Japan.

On September 5th, 2023, the 2023 Miss SAKE Japan Kotoko Yamada and the 2023 Miss SAKE Runner-up Hikari Saito attended the “Gratitude and Advancement Gathering: Evening of Local Sake” hosted by House of Representatives Member Kureha Ōtsuki.

Kureha Ōtsuki, who organized this event, is from Otaru City in Hokkaido. She used to work as a reporter for a TV station. But lately, she’s been determined to change the course of politics in Hokkaido, her hometown, which has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. She decided to move from being a journalist to becoming a politician to make this change happen. Not only is she a member of parliament, but she’s also a mom to two young kids. She’s dedicated to creating a society where women can thrive, improving conditions for raising children, and addressing the problem of population decline in her region.

Her active involvement and commitment to making Japan’s future better as a woman and a mother was very inspiring to me and gave me the energy to want to also work hard as well.

After the toast, we got the chance to talk about Miss SAKE’s activities, both in Japan and around the world. We also discussed the potential of Japanese sake as a way to connect with other countries and introduced the Niseko Sake Brewery from Hokkaido.

Many people at the event were interested in what we do, and their encouraging words have given us a lot of motivation for our future work.

On this day, we had the honor of helping introduce various local sakes from Hokkaido, where Mrs.Kureha Ōtsuki is from.

There were ten different types of sake from Niseko Sake Brewery in Kutchan-cho, Abuta-gun, Hokkaido. One sake that stood out was called “忠 (Nakagokoro),” which was made in collaboration with Kutchan Agricultural High School and Niseko Sake Brewery.

This sake is made using Hokkaido-grown sake rice called “Suisei,” which is highly regarded nationwide. It was cultivated by students from Kutchan Agricultural High School. It truly represents Hokkaido, with locally sourced rice, water, and craftsmanship.

We feel extremely honored to have made such wonderful connections and opportunities.

To House of Representatives Member Momiji Ōtsuki and everyone involved, we want to sincerely thank you for this valuable opportunity.
