2022 Miss SAKE 磯部里紗です。

11月上旬に、東京都港区西麻布に所在する在日ガーナ大使館をご訪問させて頂きました。

なかなかアフリカでは日本酒のイメージがありませんでしたが、最近は日本食レストランも増え、白鶴酒造様がガーナへの日本酒輸出も始められたとのことで、関心が高まっているそうです。

実際にガーナ大使館の方からは、スパークリング日本酒がとても美味しかった！というお声を頂きました。スパークリング日本酒は、日本酒が初めての方にとっても馴染みやすい味わいなのだと感じます。

他に日本関連で言うと、ガーナではちょうど11月中旬に日本週間が開催され、柔道大会やよさこい祭り、高校生による日本語スピーチコンテストが実施されていたそうです。

現地での日本への関心が高いことを知ることができ、嬉しい限りでした。

そして、訪問の本題として、Miss SAKE Africaをまずガーナから始めさせて頂きたいとご相談させて頂きました。是非やりましょうと快いお返事をいただいただけでなく、観光とのコラボレーションや、伝統衣装のケンテと振袖のコラボレーションをするのも良さそう、といろんなアイデアをくださいました。

今後ガーナの皆様と共に、Miss SAKEのアフリカ進出が実現することを、大変楽しみにしております。

最後に、事前に少しだけチュイ語を学んで行ったのでチュイ語で挨拶をしてみたところ、大変喜んで頂けて嬉しかったです。

2022 Miss SAKE 磯部里紗

In early November, I visited the Embassy of Ghana in Tokyo, Japan.

I have an impression that sake is not very well-known in Africa, but I learned that the number of Japanese restaurants has recently increased and Hakutsuru Sake Brewery has just started exporting sake to Ghana.

The Ghanaian embassy staff also told us that the sparkling sake was very tasty! I feel that sparkling sake is an easy taste to get used to, even for those who are new to sake, so it can be a great way to introduce Japanese sake to the Ghana.

In addition, they told us that the Japan Week was going to be held in mid-November in Ghana, and there was a judo tournament, a yosakoi festival, and a Japanese speech contest for high school students.

I was very glad to learn that there is a high level of interest in Japan in Ghana.

Regarding the main topic of our visit, we asked them if they are interested in starting Miss SAKE Africa in Ghana first. Not only did they respond enthusiastically, but they also gave us various ideas, such as collaborating with tourism and collaborating with the traditional costumes “kente” and furisode (long-sleeved kimono).

I look forward to working with them to realize Miss SAKE’s expansion into Africa in the near future!
