Miss SAKE paid a Courtesy Visit to cargo-partner GmbH and ANA in Vienna (English version below)

2023 Miss SAKE 準グランプリ 齋藤ひかりです。

秋の深まりを感じる10月中旬、オーストリア・ウィーンにて開催された「Sake Week Vienna」に参加させていただきました。

この素晴らしいイベントのスポンサーであるcargo-partner社 および ANA社のご厚意により、ウィーン滞在中に同社を訪問し、貴重な交流の機会をいただきました。

今回のオーストリア訪問に際し、格別のご支援とご協力を賜りましたことに、謹んで深甚なる感謝の意を表します。

また、訪問当日は、ジェトロ・ウィーン事務所の所長である神野達雄様にもご同席いただきました。ご多用のところお時間を賜り、心より感謝申し上げます。

 

表敬訪問：cargo-partner GmbH

まずはじめに、Cargo-Partner社グループの会長である増田貴様を表敬訪問させていただきました。

訪問の際には、Corporate Director Communications / Marketing のカーリン・シュワルツ（Karin Schwarz）氏、そして Director Trade Lane Japan / Corporate Manager Trade Lane APAC のイェルク・アイスナー（Jörg Eisner）氏にもご挨拶させていただく機会を頂戴しました。

お忙しい中お時間を割いていただき、温かくお迎えいただきましたことに心より感謝申し上げます。

お会いした際、増田様が事前に私の活動について調べてくださっており、千葉県の日本酒の話題で盛り上がりました。

増田様はゴルフがお好きで、これまで千葉でプレーされる機会も多かったそうです。千葉のゴルフ場では地元の日本酒がよく置かれており、「千葉でゴルフをするときはいつも千葉の日本酒を楽しんでいた」と、懐かしそうにお話しくださいました。

増田様にとって「千葉でのゴルフ＝日本酒の思い出」という印象が残っていることを伺い、大変嬉しく感じました。

また、私自身も物流に関わる仕事に携わっていることから、オーストリアおよびヨーロッパの物流事情についても詳しく教えていただきました。

ヨーロッパは陸続きの地域であるため、陸路での輸送が非常に発達しているとのこと。特にオーストリアは中東欧諸国と隣接しており、これらの国々との経済的な結びつきも深いそうです。

さらに、オーストリアでは賃金や物価が比較的高いことから、隣国の輸送業者を効果的に活用し、効率的な物流体制を構築しているとのことです。

これは物流トラックに限らず、ウィーン市内を走る観光バスなども同様とのことでした。

実際にウィーン滞在中、市内ではオーストリア以外のナンバープレートを付けた車両を多く見かけ、そのお話の通りの現状を肌で感じることができました。

物流という視点から見たヨーロッパの地域特性を知ることができ、大変貴重な時間となりました。

続いて、ANAウィーン支店 支店長 兼 ウィーン支店空港所 所長である倉田 紀彦様を表敬訪問させていただきました。

ANA社はコロナ禍により運休していた、ウィーン－羽田間の直行便の運航を2024年8月1日より再開しました。利用客も徐々に増え、私が乗せていただいた便は行きも帰りも満席でした。

ANAが運営するライフスタイルマガジン「翼の王国」のWEBページでは、ANAウィーン支店の皆さまが、ウィーンのおすすめスポットを紹介されています。現地スタッフならではの視点で、ウィーンの魅力が丁寧に紹介されていますので、ぜひご覧ください。

✈️ウィーン運航再開！ ANA便で訪れたい厳選スポットをローカルの視点で紹介

久しぶりの長時間フライトでやや緊張しておりましたが、快適に過ごすことができ、現地での活動に備えて体力を十分に温存することができました。あらためて、日本とオーストリアを結ぶ直行便のありがたさを、身をもって感じております。

ウィーン国際空港は近隣諸国への便も多く就航しており、日本からヨーロッパ各地へ移動される方の多くが直行便を利用し、トランジットで乗り継いでいることを倉田様より伺いました。

実際、私が搭乗した便でも半数以上がトランジットのお客様で、ウィーンがヨーロッパ各国への玄関口として重要なハブ空港の役割を果たしていることを肌で感じることができました。

今後、フライトの利便性がさらに高まり、日本とオーストリア、ひいてはヨーロッパ各国との結びつきが一層深まるとともに、両国・地域の交流と発展がますます繁栄することを心より願っております。

Hello everyone.
This is Hikari Saito, 2023 Miss Sake Japan Runner-up.

In early October 2025, I had the pleasure of participating in the Japanese sake event,  Sake Week Vienna 2025, held in Vienna, Austria.

Thanks to the generous support of cargo-partner and ANA, the sponsor of this wonderful event, I was able to visit their offices during my stay in Vienna and have the opportunity to engage in valuable exchanges.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional support and cooperation extended to me during this visit to Austria.

We were also joined by Mr. Tatsuo Kamino, Director of JETRO Wien. I sincerely appreciate the time everyone kindly spared us despite their busy schedules.

First, I had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to Mr. Takashi Masuda, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of cargo-partner GmbH.

During the visit, I also had the opportunity to greet Ms. Karin Schwarz, Corporate Director of Communications / Marketing, and Mr. Jörg Eisner, Director Trade Lane Japan / Corporate Manager Trade Lane APAC.

I am deeply grateful for their time and warm welcome, especially given their busy schedules.

During our meeting, Mr. Masuda kindly shared detailed insights about logistics in Austria and Europe. Being a land-connected region, Europe has a highly developed system of land transportation. Austria, in particular, shares borders with several Central and Eastern European countries, fostering strong economic ties.

Mr. Masuda also explained that, because wages and living costs are relatively high in Austria, the country effectively collaborates with transport operators from neighboring nations to optimize its logistics system.

This applies not only to logistics trucks but also to sightseeing buses operating within Vienna. During my stay, I observed many vehicles with non-Austrian license plates in the city, confirming this practice firsthand.

Learning about Europe’s regional characteristics from a logistics perspective, followed by such a personal and cultural conversation, made this visit an especially valuable experience.

Later in our conversation, the topic shifted to Japanese sake, particularly from Chiba Prefecture. Mr. Masuda is an avid golfer and has often played in Chiba. He shared with fondness that local sake is commonly available at golf courses there, and that “whenever I played golf in Chiba, I always enjoyed the local sake.” 

It was heartening to hear that, for him, golfing in Chiba is closely associated with memories of Japanese sake.

I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Masuda and all those involved for taking the time to meet with me despite their busy schedules.

Next, I had the honor of paying a courtesy visit to Mr. Norihiko Kurata, General Manager & Station Manager of ANA in Vienna.

ANA resumed its direct flights between Vienna and Haneda, which had been suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, starting from August 1, 2024. 

Since the resumption, passenger numbers have been gradually increasing, and the flights I was on—both to and from Vienna—were fully booked.

It had been some time since I last took a long-haul flight, and although I was naturally a little nervous, the journey was very comfortable. 

It allowed me to conserve my energy for the activities in Vienna, and I truly appreciated firsthand the convenience and importance of a direct connection between Japan and Austria.

Mr. Kurata also shared that Vienna International Airport serves many nearby countries, and that a significant number of passengers traveling from Japan to other parts of Europe use the Vienna route for transit. 

On the flights I took, more than half of the passengers were connecting to other destinations, which gave me a tangible sense of Vienna’s important role as a hub airport for Europe.

I sincerely hope that flight services will continue to improve, further strengthening the ties between Japan, Austria, and other European countries, and contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of exchanges in the region.
