皆様こんにちは。2018 ミス日本酒の須藤亜紗実です。
11月9日、神奈川県横浜市鶴見区の曹洞宗大本山總持寺にて開催された『第29回世界仏教徒会議・第20回世界仏教徒青年会議・第11回世界仏教徒大学会議 世界大会』記念法要・記念式典に参加して参りました。
World Fellowship Of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) 世界仏教徒青年連盟は、世界の仏教徒の交流・友好・親善及び教義の普及、世界平和への貢献を目的とし、1972年に設立された世界最大の仏教青年会です。
WFBYでは設立以来2年に一度、世界仏教徒会議 (WFB会議)を開催しておられ、各種活動報告や活動計画の立案、決定がなされております。 この度は2008年以来実に10年ぶり4度目に、WFB 会議が日本において開催されました。5日間に及ぶ期間中には世界15の国・地域よりおよそ300人の仏教徒の方々が来日され、各種会議や委員会、式典等が行われました。そして会議最終日であった11月9日には日本国内外から約900人の方々が集まり、世界平和を祈願する記念法要・記念式典が執り行われました。

この度は私も世界平和祈願記念法要・式典に参加をさせて頂き、その後は總持寺境内の三松閣にて、世界各国からお越しになった仏教徒の皆様と交流をさせて頂きました。

三松閣では、「各宗派青年会によるPRブース」や「精進料理とピザやカレー、ラーメンのコラボレーションブース」「手作りお守り体験ブース」「お茶室体験ブース」など様々なブースが設けられており、参加者の皆様が日本ならではの体験を楽しんでいらっしゃる様子が大変印象的でした。
この度、国や地域、宗派の枠を超え、世界各国より多くの皆様がお集まりになったこのような催しに参加させて頂き、一日本人、すなわち日本文化の一担い手として多くの皆様と交流させて頂けましたことを大変光栄に思っております。
このような貴重な機会を頂戴いたしましたご縁への感謝を忘れずに、ミス日本酒としてより一層気を引き締め、精進して参りたいと思っております。この度は素晴らしい経験をさせて頂き誠に有難うございました。

Hello, everyone. This is Asami Sudo, 2018 Miss SAKE.
On November 9th, I attended the Buddhist memorial service of the 29th General Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB), the 20th General Conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY) and the 11th meeting of the World Buddhist University Council (WBU) at Sojiji in Kanagawa Prefecture, one of the two head monasteries of Soto Zen School.
The Joint General Conferences of the WFB, the WFBY and the WBU were held from the 5th to 9th of November in Japan, after an interval of 10 years. About 300 Buddhists from around the world came to Japan and attended concerned committees and meetings. And at the last day of the conferences, the Buddhist memorial service to pray for world peace were held, in which about 900 people participated.
After attending the Buddhist service, I welcomed the foreign guests within the temple precincts, where they could find a lot of booths to experience Japanese Buddhism culture such as Japanese lenten fare and tea ceremony.
The conversations with Buddhists from around the world, who have come to Japan beyond the country boundaries and the religious schools, were so fruitful with a lot of learnings. As Miss SAKE and as a Japanese, I’d like to try harder to broaden and deepen my understandings of Japanese culture.
I extend my deep appreciation to all the people involved for the valuable experience.
