2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子です。
7月29日、30日に韓国ソウル市江南区COEXホールにて行われました、アジア最大級の日本酒イベントである「SEOUL SAKE FESTIVAL 2023」に2022 Miss SAKE 磯部里紗さんと2023 Miss SAKE 山田琴子が参加させていただきました。
このイベントは、韓国地酒輸入業協会中央会様（ニホンシュコリア、ニホンサケ、地酒CYコリア、一路、CRトレーディング、サカヤコリア、熊谷酒類）主催で、在大韓民国日本国大使館が後援に入り、開催されました。
コロナが明け、4年ぶりとなった Seoul SAKE Festivalですが、会場では日本酒や焼酎、泡盛を扱われている酒造ブースが120ほど並び、2日間で5000人弱の来場者がいらっしゃり、韓国の方に日本酒を知っていただく素晴らしい機会となりました。
私も大好きな日本酒の蔵元様にお会いできるということで、大興奮の2日間でした。
特に印象的だったのが、来場者の皆様の年齢層が若い私と同世代の20~30代の方が多かったことです。日本の文化や日本酒が大好きだと伝えてくださる方も多くいらっしゃり、Miss SAKEの私がまとっている振袖に関してや、日本酒の違いなど、多くの質問をいただき、現地韓国の同世代の方に日本文化について直接共有ができましたことは大変有意義で思い出に残る時間となりました。

Miss SAKEの私達は、開会式にて在大韓民国日本国特命全権大使 相星 孝一様のお言葉の後に、韓国語にてMiss SAKEのご紹介とこのイベントにおける意気込みをお話しさせていただきました。相星大使にもお褒めの言葉をいただき、私の大好きな韓国の地で、2年間勉強した韓国語にてご挨拶ができたことが大変嬉しかったです。

以前ナデシコプログラムにて、日本酒を海外にて日本でいただくのと同じような本来の味わいにていただくのには、綿密な管理が必要で、その必要な管理の複雑さから正しく管理ができず香りや味わいが落ちてしまったものを海外の方は日本酒として味わってしまっているということを伺いました。
今回お世話になりました、熊谷酒類株式会社の熊谷謙様は、「酒の一滴は血の一滴」として日本酒を本来の味わいで韓国の方に味わっていただけるよう、厳格な品質管理を行っておられます。このように、日本酒を大切に正しい味わいで外国の方もいただけるように配慮くださっている輸入業者様がいらっしゃるからこそ、日本酒の本来の美味しさを多くの韓国の同世代の若者が知り、楽しむことができているということに感謝と尊敬の気持ちでいっぱいです。
私もいくつかの酒蔵様のブースにて、日本酒をご紹介するお手伝いをさせていただきました。
この時に驚いたのが、同世代の韓国人の皆さんのお酒を楽しむだけでなく、お米や製造方法についてもっと知りたいという質問の数々をいただいたことです。試飲の日本酒を飲み比べながら、お米の種類や精米歩合、こだわりを直接蔵元に伺いたいという方もいらっしゃり、韓国の若者の間での日本酒のリテラシーの高さに驚きました。
ある酒造様のブースでお手伝いをしていた際に、20代の韓国人の男性がブースにいらしたのですが、その方は「韓国の郊外から3時間かけて大好きな酒造様の蔵元に会いに来た」と満面の笑みで嬉しそうにおっしゃっており、日本酒をここまで愛してくださっている方がいらっしゃるということに大変感動いたしました。
私がMiss SAKEに就任してから初めての海外のお仕事となりましたが、ソウルの若者の皆さんの日本酒への熱量と愛を直接感じ、私からも韓国語にて直接日本酒の素晴らしさをお伝えすることができ、大変貴重な経験となりました。

Miss SAKE attended the 2023 Seoul Sake Festival
Hi, I’m Kotoko Yamada the 2023 Miss SAKE Japan.
On July 29 and 30, I had the privilege of participating in the “SEOUL SAKE FESTIVAL 2023” the largest sake event in Asia, held at COEX Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, alongside 2022 Miss SAKE Risa Isobe.

This event was organized by the Korea Liquor Importers Association Central Committee (including Nihonshu Korea, Nihon Sake, Jizake CY Korea, Ichiro, CR Trading, Sakaya Korea, Kumagai Shurui) and was supported by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Korea.
After a long break of four years due to COVID-19, the Seoul SAKE Festival finally returned, with approximately 120 sake, shochu, and awamori breweries setting up booths. Over the two days, we had nearly 5,000 visitors, providing a fantastic opportunity to introduce Japanese sake to the people of Korea.
I was overjoyed to have the chance to meet the sake brewers, whose sake I truly love, during these two exciting days.
What left a deep impression on me was the large number of attendees in their 20s to 30s, the same generation as myself. I met many young people who expressed their love for Japanese culture and sake. They asked numerous questions about my kimono and the differences in sake, allowing me to directly share aspects of Japanese culture with the young people of Korea. It was a truly meaningful and unforgettable time for me.
At the opening ceremony, the Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Koichi Aiboshi gave the opening speech and 2022 Miss SAKE Risa Isobe and myself introduced ourselves in Korean and shared our enthusiasm for the event in Korean. Ambassador Aiboshi complimented our Korean and the fact that I was able to introduce myself in Korean which I studied for 2 years meant a lot for me.
Previously, I learned from Ms. Rieko Matsui of the Joy of Sake Tokyo about the importance of meticulous management to maintain the original taste of sake when enjoyed abroad, just like in Japan.
Mr. Ken Kumagai of Kumagai Shuzo Co., Ltd., who took care of us during this event, follows the principle of “One drop of sake is One drop of blood.” He ensures that Japanese sake is tasted in its true flavor by the people of Korea through strict quality control. I deeply appreciate and admire importers like him, who value preserving the genuine taste of sake and allow many young Koreans to experience its true deliciousness.

I also had the pleasure of assisting at several brewery booths, and what surprised me was the genuine interest shown by the young Korean visitors. They not only enjoyed the sake but also wanted to know more about the rice varieties used and the brewing process. Some of them inquired about polishing ratios and the dedication of the brewers, directly engaging with the brewers at the booths. I was truly amazed by the high level of sake literacy among young Koreans.
While assisting at a booth, one young Korean man in his 20s shared with a bright smile, “I came all the way from the outskirts of Korea, three hours away, to meet the beloved brewers of this brewery.” I was deeply moved by the fact that there are people who hold such a strong love for Japanese sake.
This was my first overseas assignment since becoming Miss SAKE, and I could genuinely feel the passion and love that young Koreans have for Japanese sake. Being able to convey the greatness of Japanese sake directly in Korean was an incredibly valuable experience for me.

서울 사케 페스티벌 2023에 Miss SAKE가 참가하였습니다
안녕하세요.
저는 2023 Miss SAKE Japan의 야마다 코토코(山田琴子)입니다.
올 7월 29일과 30일, 한국 서울시 강남구 COEX 홀에서 개최된 아시아 최대의 사케 이벤트인 ‘SEOUL SAKE FESTIVAL 2023’에 2022 Miss SAKE 이소베 리사(磯部里紗) 씨와 2023 Miss SAKE인 저, 야마다 코토코가 참가하였습니다.
이 행사는 한국지자케수입업협회중앙회 주최로, 주대한민국 일본국대사관의 후원으로 개최되었습니다.
코로나가 끝나고 4년 만에 돌아온 Seoul SAKE Festival 행사장에는 사케, 쇼츄, 아와모리를 양조하는 양조장 부스 120여 곳이 참가하였고, 2일간 5000여 명의 참관객이 방문하였는데, 한국분들께 사케를 알리는 멋진 기회가 되었습니다.
저도 매우 좋아하는 사케 양조장 관계자분들을 만날 수 있다는 점에서 기대와 설렘으로 가득했던 2일이었습니다.
특히, 방문객들의 연령대가 저와 비슷한 20~30대가 많았던 점이 인상적이었습니다. 일본의 문화와 사케를 좋아한다는 분들도 많았는데, Miss SAKE인 제가 입고 있던 기모노나 사케의 차이 등에 대한 다양한 질문을 받으며 현지의 동년배 청년들과 일본 문화를 직접 공유할 수 있었던 점에서 매우 의미 있고 기억에 남는 시간이었습니다.
Miss SAKE인 저희들은 개회식에서 주대한민국 일본국대사관의 아이보시 코이치(相星 孝一) 대사님의 개회사가 끝난 후, 한국어로 Miss SAKE를 소개하면서 이 이벤트에 대한 열정을 전달하였습니다. 아이보시 대사님께서도 칭찬의 말씀을 해주셨는데, 제가 사랑하는 한국땅에서 2년간 배운 한국어로 인사를 드릴 수 있어서 매우 기뻤습니다.
예전 나데시코 프로그램에서 일본에서와 동일한 사케 본연의 맛을 해외에서 즐기기 위해서는 꼼꼼한 관리가 필요한데, 이러한 관리가 복잡하여 제대로 관리되지 못해 향기와 맛이 변한 상품을 해외 소비자들은 본연의 사케로 인식하고 즐긴다는 이야기를 들었습니다.
이번에 도움을 받았던 쿠마가이주류주식회사의 쿠마가이 대표는 ‘술 한 방울은 피 한 방울’이라는 인식을 갖고, 사케 본연의 맛을 한국 소비자들이 즐길 수 있도록 엄격하게 품질을 관리하고 있다고 합니다. 이렇게 사케를 소중히 여기고, 해외 소비자들이 본연의 맛을 즐길 수 있도록 배려해주시는 수입사 여러분들 덕분에 사케 본연의 아름다움을 한국의 많은 청년들이 알게 되고, 즐길 수 있게 된 것에 깊은 감사와 존경을 표합니다.
저도 몇몇 양조장 부스에서 함께 사케를 소개해 드렸습니다.
이때 놀란 것은 저와 비슷한 나이대의 한국 청년들이 술을 즐기는 것뿐만 아니라, 쌀품종이나 제조방법 등에 대해 더 알려달라는 질문을 많이 받았던 점입니다. 시음한 사케를 비교하며 쌀의 종류, 정미율, 양조장의 방침을 양조인에게 직접 듣고자 하는 분들도 계셨는데, 한국 청년들의 높은 사케 지식에 놀랐습니다.
한 양조장 부스에 있을 때 방문하신 20대 한국인 남성은, ‘여기까지 3시간 걸려 매우 좋아하는 사케 브랜드의 양조인을 만나러 왔어요’라며 웃음 가득한 얼굴로 말했습니다. 저는 이렇게까지 사케를 좋아하는 사람이 있다는 사실에 깊은 감동을 받았습니다.
제가 Miss SAKE로 취임한 후 첫 해외업무였는데요, 서울 청년들의 사케에 대한 열정과 애정을 직접 느꼈고, 저 또한 한국어로 직접 사케의 훌륭함을 전할 수 있는 매우 소중한 경험이었습니다.
이렇게 귀중한 기회를 주셔서 진심으로 감사합니다.
