吹き来る木枯らしに冬の到来を感じた11月25日（土）、多摩観光推進協議会様主催の「多摩モノレール 地酒列車モニターツアー」に2023 Miss SAKE Japan 山田琴子さんと一緒に参加してまいりました。

こちらのツアーは、東京多摩地区８蔵の日本酒をはじめとした東京の地酒と、地域の食材を使ったおつまみを多摩モノレールに乗りながら味わうことができる内容となっていました。私たちが参加させていただいた日程では、在日外国人向けに英語通訳付きのプランがご用意され、日本でお仕事をされている方や留学生など、様々な地域と年代の方にご参加いただきました。

また、日本酒きき酒師漫才師の「にほんしゅ」様もゲストとしていらっしゃり、車内にて日本酒についてのご説明やテイスティングについてお話いただきました。

 

多摩モノレール

ツアーは多摩モノレール終点の上北台駅から始まりました。普段走行しているモノレールの貸切ということもあり、その非日常的な空間に発車前から車内は皆さんの笑顔で溢れていました。

途中下車をした多摩センター駅では、パルテノン大通りにて「にほんしゅ」様による英語での酒漫才と南京玉すだれのパフォーマンスが行われました。「大吟醸！」の合いの手や、お酒の温度帯を紹介する替え歌など、参加型のパフォーマンスに皆さんも楽しそうに参加していました。

 

また、パルテノン大通りでは東京の地酒が販売されるブースもあり、お土産に日本酒を買って帰られる方もいらっしゃいました。

多摩市長を務めていらっしゃる阿部裕行様にもお会いすることができました。

発車してからしばらくの間は、一緒に参加している方とお酒を飲まれている方が大半でしたが、徐々に周りの方と乾杯をしたり、テーブル毎に用意されていた異なるお酒を注ぎあったりと、皆さまグループの垣根を超えて交流されていました。地域や世代に関係なく、日本酒が結んでくれる酒縁を改めて実感した瞬間でした。また今回のツアーを通して、海外の方に都会のイメージが強い東京にも、素晴らしい地酒がたくさんあるということを知っていただける機会になったのではないかと感じます。今までの印象とは異なる、自然豊かな東京の一面を味わってみたい方にぜひご紹介したい体験です。

Hello, everyone.

I’m Hikari Saito, 2023 Miss SAKE Japan runner up.

 

On November 25th, 2023 Miss SAKE Japan, Kotoko Yamada and I participated in the local sake tasting tour on the Tama Monorail.

Tama Monorail is a line that traverses the Tama area in Tokyo from Tama Center Station to Kamikitadai Station.

In this tour, the participants were able to enjoy local sake, wine and beer from breweries in the Tokyo Tama area, and snacks made with local ingredients while riding the Tama Monorail. The tour we participated in was planned for foreigners living in Japan, and an English interpreter was also available.

The tour started from Kamikitadai Station, the last stop of the Tama Monorail. Since the monorail was reserved for this event, I could feel that everyone was excited about the special atmosphere.

For a while after the train departed, everyone enjoyed a drink with their own friends, but slowly the participants made a toast with the people around them, shared different sake prepared on each table, and mingled with each other across groups. It was a moment when I realized again the connection that sake can make regardless of region or generation.

 

At Tama Center Station, where we had a stopover, there was a performance of Sake Manzai by the comedian “Nihonshu (にほんしゅ) “ in English. The audience was very passionate about the Manzai, which included authentic knowledge of sake. Also, the performance using Nankin Tamasudare (南京玉すだれ) , which evokes the beautiful landscape of Japan, fascinated the people.

Through this local sake train tour, we were able to introduce the less urban side of Tokyo to people from overseas. As Miss SAKE, I would like to continue to present the unique charms of Japan to the world.
